The Asia Pacific Gateway Skills Table (Skills Table) is a non-profit, regional partnership between labour, business, and education and training institutions. Our mandate is to coordinate decision-making and action to address overall concerns regarding labour shortages and skills gaps in the Asia Pacific Gateway, and build appropriate capacity in labour resources in innovative ways.

Our mission is to ensure the Asia Pacific Gateway has enough people with the right skills and training.

Labour market information provides labour supply and demand information on occupational areas that are essential to the efficient functioning and growth of the Asia Pacific Gateway.

This site provides in-depth reports by region, sector, industry and occupation.  The forecasts provide valuable information, facilitate labour market planning for decision-makers and employers, and help workers make informed decisions about their careers and futures.

The Skills Table’s Labour Market Information projects include:

Asia Pacific Gateway Labour Market Information Project – providing standardized validated labour supply and demand information on occupations in BC that are central to supporting growth and efficient functioning in the Asia Pacific Gateway.

Asia Pacific Gateway Corridor Labour Market Information Project – providing standardized validated labour supply and demand information on occupations in the four western provinces that are essential to the efficient functioning and growth of the Asia Pacific Gateway Corridor.

Engineers, Geoscientists, Technologists and Technicians Labour Market Information Project – an in-depth look at 31 key occupations with targeted regional information. This project is a partnership with ACEC-BC, APEGBC, and ASTTBC.

Additional Skills Table Projects and reports can be found in the Completed Projects section of the APGST website, or you can check out our other Active Projects here.
